JACKSONVILLE, FL -- A four-day celebration leading up to the Florida-Georgia weekend kicked off Wednesday night with a Hooters Swimsuit Competition at the Jacksonville Landing.
Dozens of bikini clad beauties took part in the event.
"It's crazy," said Vivian, a Hooters waitress. "All the fans come out and all the excitement and the pep rallies and all this stuff is very fun."
The swimsuit contest is the beginning of a four-day event at the Landing and around Jacksonville.
So many people are expected to show up for this weekend's festivities that officials decided to remove the main stage from the courtyard at the Landing to make room for all the patrons.
"The removal of the courtyard stage will add additional space for our patrons," said Rachel Nudge, director of public relations, "yet still offer entertainment value with music being played through our large sound system."
Hooters is also opening up a second restaurant at the Landing for tailgaters.
In addition to the Hooters swimsuit contest and dance music at the Landing, live music will be played on the Cazadores Entertainment Stage on Hogan Street Friday night and all day Saturday.
