Flat Belly Diet Book Targets Trouble Spot

Flat Belly Diet Book Targets Trouble Spot

A new diet book seeks to help women lose weight by eating a diet that may target belly fat specifically.
The science behind the diet involves consuming monounsaturated fatty acids (or MUFAs) which makes weight loss not only easier but may target that trouble spot, according to a new book called "Flat Belly Diet!"
The book's authors are the editor of health magazine Prevention, Liz Vaccariello and, Cynthia Sass, a dietician who writes for the magazine and has appeared on nationally aired television programs.
The diet involves two stages. The first takes four days and is designed to help eliminate "belly bloat" and get dieters ready for the next stage. The second part involves eating four 400-calorie meals per day which contain foods rich in MUFAs along with ongoing motivation.
The book includes food groups categorized by the book's authors and guidance, including sample recipes for breakfast lunch and dinner. An optional fitness plan is also included. Users can customize the plan through a subscription based website which accompanies the book (http://www.flatbellydiet.com). The site's function includes being a support community and offering daily menus, recipes, videos, shopping lists.
Some MUFA oils to accompany or fry food include canola oil, flaxseed oil, and olive oil.
The book sells for $25.95 from publisher Rodale Books.
