Actress Lindsay Lohan may be reckless with her career but she apparently isn't ready to throw it all away. With her stock as a romantic lead actress greatly diminished by her lesbian romance with Boys Don't Cry DJ Samantha Ronson, Lohan is now letting it be known that, hey, she's not really gay, at least not totally.
Meanwhile her dad, Michael Lohan seems to be embracing Ronson, just as LiLo is trying to create a little distance, at least publicly. Will these two ever get on message?
Lohan's latest career disaster unfolded as she jetted to Japan to spend time with galpal Ronson, where she had a deejay gig. News broke that she had been cut from the last two-episodes of her six-episode "Ugly Betty" run because of "tension" on the set. Tabloids reported that the gig was Lohan's last and that she had no other work lined up. One report said she couldn't even get a stint on "Dancing With the Stars."
In September, Dad Lohan went ballistic on Ronson, claiming she was a "dark, hideous, and disgusting representation of humanity." He also claimed that Ronson was just using Lohan as her ticket to fame, was living of Lilo's bank account and was ruining her career. For her part, Ronson's family is said to be wealthy, and her brother, Mark, is a successful record producer.
His words seemed almost prophetic at least in one respect LiLo's career is in the tank. Hollywood doesn't believe she can carry a film anymore. The same thing happened to actress Anne Heche, when she turned lesbian. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but women lose the ability to play heterosexual romantic leads when the public perceives them as gay.
Lohan hasn't said she plans to leave Ronson, but if she did, dating another male wouldn't be out of the question. E! Entertainment, quoting friends, says Ronson is the only girl Lohan would go for. "She has been telling everyone over and over that she's still into guys," a friend said. "She keeps saying if anything went wrong with Sam she would date a guy next. She even flirts with guys when they go out."
